Before September 2008, the building that now houses Wild Heart Brewing functioned as a feed and seed called Gardner Fertilizer and Supply. It was owned by Keith Hancock, father of Casey Hancock. Keith was shot dead in September 2008. Ten years later, Casey Hancock bought the building and established Wild Heart Brewing. Casey has served as the mayor of Hartsville since 2021.
